Enjoy a delicious free range ham – either a half or full leg; a ham bag to store it in over the holidays, our homemade spiced pineapple chutney and recipe for the perfect orange, ginger and maple syrup glaze – absolutely delicious.
Our Food & Beverage Team have curated some delicious, Yarra Valley inspired, gifts that will be perfect for the food and wine conoisseur this Christmas. We’ve got a selection of offerings that feature wines from Dominique Portet and Yering Farm, with the kitchen making their famous mince pies and shortbread, for you to select from.
Orders for Christmas hams and gifts can be made up to Tuesday, December 10 and will have them placed in your cottage in readiness for your check-in.
Children’s Christmas Party : Sunday, december 1
Join us for the annual Eastern Golf Club Children’s Christmas Party. Santa is taking a quick break in the lead up to his busiest time of the year and is expected to arrive at approximately 3pm. We’ve got some super fun activities happening including a Petting Zoo, face painting, jumping castle, air brush tattooing and there’ll be some cool tunes spun at our ‘kids only’ disco.

As we welcome the warmer days that Spring brings, our new menu has been launched.
Alongside your favourite dishes & shared boards, you will find a selection of lighter dishes to enjoy including a warm quinoa salad and a chicken & basil pesto salad; we’ve added some new taste sensations including vegetarian dumplings, an Asian Ramen and we’re looking forward to trying the Moroccan spiced braised lamb rump.
The Members’ Lounge & Bar is open to guests daily from 11am until 6pm; for dinner until 9pm on Wednesday & Friday night; and from 7am on weekends for breakfast.

To celebrate the arrival of Spring, we have launched our first ‘Seasonal Mini Bar Special’ with the addition of Dominique Portet Fontaine Rose to our mini bar experience for guests to purchase during their stay.
Showcasing Yarra Valley neighbour – Dominique Portet – the Fontaine Rose is the perfect wine for late summery afternoons spent lazing on your private deck as you take in the natural beauty of the surrounding private nature reserve or watch a spectacular dusk sunset after a day of exploring the Yarra Valley.
The Dominique Portet Fontaine Rose joins a selection of Yarra Valley artisan producers featured within our mini bar offer including wines from Coombe Yarra Valley, beers from Hargreaves Hill and The Public Brewery, cider from Napoleone and chocolates from Kennedy & Wilson.
Welcoming two delicious drops from nearby winery – Oakridge as our ‘Wines of the Month’.
You can try their 2018 Yarra Valley Rose and 2018 Yarra Valley Pinot Noir – both wines have been sourced from their controlled and operated sites in the Upper Yarra Valley.
A warm, wet spring, followed by a dry summer and autumn resulted in good crops that were harvested in near perfect conditions to create two lovely wines that are perfect for the warmer days ahead.
Both wines are available by the glass and bottle.

showcasing another local – hargreaves hill pale ale
Keeping true to our philosopy of promoting local, we are delighted to now feature Hargreaves Hill Pale Ale in our Mini-Bar.
A true phoenix from the ashes tale: Hargreaves Hill is the Victorian craft brewing scene’s great survivor. When bush fires tore across the state on Black Saturday in 2009 this brewery in Steels Creek was destroyed along with most houses in the region. The following weeks saw an outpouring of support for Hargreaves Hill from the craft beer community. And, just six months later, a new brewery was re-established in Lilydale, with a larger brew length, greater process control and improved bottling facilities.

Yering Gorge Cottages is opening the door to the bounty of local wineries, brewers and food producers on their doorstep. Continuing to enhance the accommodation and destination experience we are providing, guests can now enjoy a selection of some of the Yarra Valley’s best producers straight from their mini bar including:
Coombe Farm Blanc de Blanc, Pinot Gris and Shiraz – home of the iconic soprano, Dame Nellie Melba, their Estate Grown, boutique wines deserve equal recognition for their style and elegance.
Napoleone Apple Cider – the Napoleone family are third generation fruit growers since 1948. 2008 saw the creation of Napoleone Cider before turning their attention to craft beer with the birth of Napoleone Brewers in 2014.
Payten & Jones VV Series Pinot Noir – describing their wines as ‘having a bit of personality and a little different to the polished norm’, Payton & Jones are leading the next generation of producers to emerge from their beloved Yarra Valley.
Feather Weight Craft Light – The Public Brewery – only one of three craft light beers produced in Victoria; and the only one made in the Yarra Valley. The team at The Public Brewery developed Feather Weight to challenge age old perceptions that light beer isn’t cool or worth drinking.
Kennedy & Wilson Chocolates – producing premium chocolate since 1995 in Healesville. Using the finest cocoa and cocoa butter from around the world they strive to produce chocolate that tastes like chocolate – a product that is high in cocoa mass, cocoa butter and cream.
The new mini bar offer complements the upgrades to our continental breakfast basket undertaken earlier in the year including a selection of teas from Yarra Valley Tea and coffee sourced from local roastery – Silva Coffee.

Yering Gorge Cottages has added some new food experiences for guests to have waiting for them on their arrival. In addition to the always popular ‘cheese platter’ and cooked breakfast hamper, guests can now enjoy a charcuterie board and selection of Coombe Farm wines. Join us for dinner on Wednesday and Friday night’s. Relax by the fireplace as you enjoy our family friendly environment before retiring to your cottage for the evening. Guests can charge back to their cottage when dining in The Members’ Lounge. Bookings are not required for groups of less than 10 guests.
weekend breakfast: The members’ lounge
If you feel like a heartier breakfast on weekends, and don’t want to cook up one yourself with our cooked breakfast hamper upgrade, you can let us do the cooking whilst you sit back and enjoy the view. Breakfast is served on Saturday and Sunday’s between 7am until 11am. Guests can charge back to their cottage when dining in The Members’ Lounge.
