In the Kitchen
Head Chef, Scott Ribban’s first food memories are baking cakes with his Mother as a five-year old. Whilst ‘licking the bowl and spoon’ might have been the initial attraction it was his mother’s influence, and those experiences together, that set him on the path to a culinary career.
Becoming a Head Chef at a very young age, Scott places great importance on guiding and mentoring his teams to help them reach their full potential. This passion for developing others saw him move from the kitchen, to front-of-house and into the classroom where he spent several years guiding the next generation of chefs entering the industry.
Growing up in Adelaide and attending school within proximity of the Barossa Valley, Scott always aspired to work in a wine region. Relocating to Melbourne with his young family in 2010, Scott worked in restaurants and the events industry before achieving a professional goal of working in a region where food and wine were an integral part of the experience when he came to the Yarra Valley in 2017.
Scott’s presents Modern Australian food and his menus are heavily influenced by what’s in season and using local produce where possible. Whilst you won’t find him foraging through paddocks and the beach, he takes great pleasure in working with our beautiful native ingredients and creating menus that hero our locally grown produce.
Scott’s mother remains his first influence, but he now does all the cooking when they’re together!
