When is Reception open?
Our reception is open from 9.00am – 5.00pm daily and we have staff contactable by phone to provide after-hours assistance in the event of an emergency.
Are there any changes to the guest experience as a result of COVID-19.
Ensuring that our guests have peace of mind as you travel again is our absolute priority and the below link outlines all of current protocols together with information on what’s open. Should you have any other concerns, and would like to speak with one of our team, please do not hesitate to contact our Reception or send us an email.
What time is check in and check out?
Our standard check-in time is 2.00pm and check-out is 10.00am.
Can I arrange an earlier check-in?
A request for early check-in can be made with our Guest Services team, however, it is not guaranteed. While we will always do our best to have the cottage ready for you if you wish to guarantee an early check-in the cottage should be booked for the night prior.
Can I arrange a later check-out?
If you’d like a later check-out, please contact our Reception the day prior to your departure to discuss. We are also able to store your luggage for the day while you continue to explore the Yarra Valley.
Can I check-in after Reception hours?
Yes you can check-in to your cottage after 5.00pm. If you know that you will not be arriving until after 5.00pm, can you please ensure we have your contact (email address or mobile number) details within your booking; or alternatively please contact our Reception 24 hours prior to your confirmed arrival date on +61 3 9739 0110 or via email so that we can forward instructions to you that will assist you on your arrival.
Are the Victoria Road entrance gates always open?
For the security and comfort of our guests The Eastern Golf Club gates located at Victoria Road close at 7.00pm and re-open at 7.00am. To gain access to the property outside of these times please use the security pin code you are provided with on your arrival; and also located on your cottage key tag.
Is there a minimum check-in age at Yering Gorge Cottages?
The minimum check-in age for the main guest on the reservation is 18 years.
Is there a restaurant onsite?
Guests are welcome to dine in The Eastern Golf Club Members’ Lounge. Bookings are essential and can be made with Reception prior to your arrival, or during your stay. A dress code does apply, and guests can charge back to their cottage.
What facilities are open on Christmas Day?
Our Reception and Clubhouse facilities will be closed for Christmas Day on Sunday, December 25, 2022. If you would like to organise a selection of hampers, food platters and beverages for your festive celebrations, please contact our Reception on +61 3 9739 0110. The main entrance gates will be closed for the day and can be opened using the PIN code provided to you. If you require emergency assistance on Christmas Day, please use the contact numbers listed within your compendium. Our Reception will reopen at 9.00am on Monday, December 26 and our normal opening hours for our food and beverage amenties will resume.
What type of bedding do the cottages have?
Each cottage has a King Bed, which can be divided to make two King Single Beds. All cottages also have a settee (fold-out) bed in the Lounge area. Additional nightly charges apply for the use of the settee.
Can I request an extra bed in the room?
Some cottages can accommodate an extra bed (rollaway or cot). Please contact our staff directly to discuss your requirements; additional costs will be incurred.
Do you take children?
We love welcoming children to Yering Gorge Cottages; and depending on the bedding configuration that is required, additional charges will be incurred. Where a child or infant is sharing existing bedding (king bed), breakfast provisions will not be provided.
Is breakfast included in my stay?
We provide a complimentary continental breakfast hamper for your stay; this includes home-made muesli, bread and condiments, juice, yoghurt, fresh milk, a selection of Yarra Valley Teas and Silva Coffee. Guests can elect to upgrade this to a cooked breakfast hamper for an additional nightly cost.
Is there a maximum number of guests that can stay in my cottage?
Yes, each of our cottage types has a maximum capacity of guests that can stay per night. Nightly rates are quoted based on the below number of guests with additional person rates applying – up to the maximum number of guests permitted to stay overnight in the cottage. Additional person rates are inclusive of a continental breakfast.
One-Bedroom: Nightly rates based on two guests (maximum occupancy: three adults or two adults & two children)
Two- Bedroom: Nightly rates based on four guests (maximum occupancy: five adults or four adults & two children)
Four-Bedroom: Nightly rates based on eight guests (maximum occupancy: nine adults or eight adults & two children)
Five-Bedroom: Nightly rates based on ten guests (maximum occupancy: ten adults & two children)
In the event that you have more than the standard occupancy staying, that was not advised at the time of the booking being made, we reserve the right to charge the additional person rate.
Is there free Wi-Fi?
Yes, we provide our guests with complimentary WI-FI during your stay; please be aware that speeds can vary in Regional areas and can be slower than the city. Speeds can also be impacted by extreme weather conditions including wind and heat.
What entertainment options are available in my cottage?
All cottages have complimentary access to NETFLIX to enjoy during your stay.
Do the cottages have kitchen facilities?
Our one and two-bedroom cottages have kitchenette facilities; whilst our four-bedroom cottage features a full kitchen. Each cottage has its own BBQ for you to use during your stay. We can provide a range of food hampers for you during your stay at an additional charge. Guests are not permitted to use the BBQ in the event of a Total Fire Ban.
Does our cottage have a Mini-Bar?
Yes, all cottages have a Mini-Bar including a selection of Yarra Valley wines, domestic and international beers and cider, non-alcoholic beverages and snacks. Any items consumed during your stay will be charged to your account and must be settled on check-out.
Cottage woodfires – can we light a fire in the cottages throughout the year?
Each cottage features a woodfire heater for guests to enjoy during the cooler months between April and September. During the warmer months – generally between October to March – a CFA declared fire danger period for the region is in place and we don’t allow the fireplaces to be operated purely as a precautionary measure; and to minimise the risk of any falling embers on our private nature reserve that is home to our resident population of kangaroos, wombats, echidnas and a growing birdlife population.
Can I smoke at Yering Gorge Cottages?
All our cottages are strictly non-smoking; however, guests may smoke on the private deck of your cottage. We would ask that you respect the natural environment you are in; utilise the provided ash tray and dispose of any rubbish in a responsible manner.
Is there free car parking onsite?
All our cottages have space for up to two vehicles. We do have some visitors parking for guests attending events within the cottage precinct. Vehicles are not permitted to park on any of the grassed areas surrounding the cottage precinct.
Are the rooms serviced daily?
Our cottages are not serviced daily; however, should you wish to enjoy a complete break and have a daily service, we can arrange this at an additional charge. For those guests staying with us for four nights or more, you will receive a complimentary linen and amenities refresh.
What is your party policy?
We have a very strict NO PARTY policy. Yering Gorge Cottages is located within a private nature reserve and noise travels easily, especially at night. We would ask that you head indoors after 10pm at night to ensure our other guests are not affected by noise.
Is there a minimum night stay?
We do have a two-night minimum stay for Friday and Saturday evenings; some Public Holiday’s and within our peak period of the Christmas and New Year holidays across December and January.
Is payment required at the time of booking?
We take a deposit of 50% of your total booking at the time of booking; unless you are booking within 30 days prior to arrival at which time 100% of your booking will be required. There are a range of special packages that require a non-refundable full payment at the time of booking – you should check the Terms & Conditions prior to making your booking. If you are booking through a third party, including Online Travel Agents, please refer to their payment conditions.
Do you accept credit cards?
Yes, we accept Visa Card and Mastercard; a 1.75% credit card surcharge applies for American Express. You can also make payment via EFT prior to your arrival.
How do I cancel my booking?
For bookings made directly with Yering Gorge Cottages, please email or call to cancel your reservation. For bookings made via a third party, including Online Travel Agents, please contact the agent directly.
Do you charge cancellation fees?
Cancellation fees do apply and are dependent on how far in advance you are cancelling your booking. We have a range of special packages that are non-refundable and you should check the cancellation policies with the Terms & Conditions prior to making your booking. If you are booking through a third party, including Online Travel Agents, please refer to their cancellation policies.
How can I make a booking for a larger group?

Does Yering Gorge Cottages have Fitness Facilities?
Our guests can enjoy complimentary use of our Fitness Centre and Tennis Courts throughout their stay with bookings essential. Tennis racquets can be arranged with the Sports Shop. Guests can also make use of the 12km of bush walking trails whilst here. We also have mountain bikes available for guests to use during their stay.
Can I play golf whilst there?
Yering Gorge Cottage guests have priority access to the Greg Norman designed, Eastern Golf Club. Access is subject to available tee times; and green fees apply. Golf Bookings can be made with Reception or the Sports Shop. Club Hire can also be arranged if required.
Does Yering Gorge Cottages have a swimming pool?
We do not have a swimming pool onsite. Guests are not permitted to swim within the Yarra River or creeks that run throughout the property. We can recommend local options on your arrival.
Can I walk around the Yarra Valley?
The Yarra Valley is extremely spread out and guests do require a vehicle to explore Melbourne’s ‘food and wine playground’. If you don’t wish to drive whilst here, our Reception can assist with the booking of private or group tours whilst you are staying with us.
Which Airport should I fly into?
The major Domestic and International Terminal for Melbourne is Tullamarine Airport which is a drive of approximately 90 minutes by car. For those travelling from regional airports, Lilydale Airport is located within a 10-minute drive of Yering Gorge Cottages. For those arriving by private helicopter, you can land within the Yering Gorge Cottage precinct; notice must be given of your anticipated arrival time so that we can prepare the landing area for your arrival. We are happy to arrange a private transfer if needed from either Tullamarine or Lilydale Airport.
Can I use a Golf Cart during our Stay?
Guests are welcome to use a golf cart to get around the property during their stay. The complimentary hire of golf carts can be arranged with Reception and they must be returned before 6pm; carts can not be parked at your cottage overnight. The use golf carts is subject to availability.
Can I arrange a photo shoot at Yering Gorge Cottages?
Our property is perfect for photo shoots. All photo shoots must be approved in advance by management and are restricted to the time and space agreed; and are not to interfere with the privacy of our guests. Please email a detailed request to our team for their consideration.
Do you have gift vouchers?
We can provide a gift voucher that can be used for a special package or a dollar amount that allows the recipient to use it how they wish. Vouchers can either be collected at our Reception or express posted to you with a surcharge to cover the cost of express postage.
Do you allow pets?
No, we don’t allow pets, with the exception of assistance dogs. We are located within a private nature reserve that has residential animals roaming freely across the area; assistance dogs should be kept on a leash at all times and indoors in the evening.
